Computer Support Specialist Positions

The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference is seeking qualified individuals to fill three Computer Support Specialist positions. These positions will provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

  1. Respond to queries either in person or over the phone
  2. Respond to email messages for users seeking help
  3. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  4. Complete assigned work tickets and provide resolution information
  5. Sanitize and Image new systems as well as provide audio and video support for trainings

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
  • Walk the user through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up and update user status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate supervisor
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
  • Onsite assistance may require unplanned travel or planned travel and overnight stays
  • Annual replacement of equipment state-wide including, but not limited to, switches, routers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and other miscellaneous equipment
  • Participation in Conference training events including, but not limited to, audio/visual needs


  • Experience as a help desk technician or other support role
  • Working knowledge of office products, databases and remote control
  • Solid understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, printing, audio/video codecs and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Excellent communications skills
  • User-oriented and patient

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with SQL, MySQL and HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
  • Experience with other web related technologies is a plus
  • Experience with networking protocols, router and switch configurations

Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor Position

The Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference is seeking a licensed attorney to fill a role as a Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor.

This position requires a licensed attorney with substantial experience in DUI Prosecution to fill a staff attorney (Assistant District Attorney) Position working at the statewide or Conference Level. Applicants must pass a thorough background check during the selection process.

This Position reports to the Education and Training Director.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

(Within the parameters of the TN Highway Safety Office Grant)

  • Assist in the implementation of the Tennessee District Attorney’s General training program, with an emphasis on the prosecution of drunk driving and vehicular homicide cases;
  • Assist in the traffic safety training program of the Tennessee Highway Patrol;
  • Serve as a liaison to the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the District Attorney’s General Conference and the Tennessee Highway Safety Office;
  • Assist in the training program of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office with an emphasis on Field Sobriety Test classes;
  • Serve as a consultant for prosecutors and law enforcement officers on traffic safety issues;
  • Serve as special counsel or in an advisory capacity at trial in DUI related cases that will potentially cause a significant impact in Tennessee law;
  • Assist in writing and/or updating the DUI manual for prosecutors;
  • Provide articles for the DUI News and other publications; Participate in state and national traffic safety conferences to remain current on the latest knowledge and issues in traffic safety.
  • Assist with writing yearly grant renewal and submitting quarterly reports.
