If you knew my mom, you had a nickname—and chances are, you still remember it. 😂 She had a way of making everyone laugh and feel loved. But what stood out most was her sweet heart. She cared deeply for people and had a kindness that was part of who she was. One of my greatest gifts was getting to watch her become a Mammy, even if I only got seven short months. Those months were far too short, but I will treasure those memories forever. I wish she had been given years to love, laugh, spoil her babies, and make memories. My mom was a homicide victim, but that is not what defines her. She was Mom. She was Mammy.
